The Hawg Forum / Fishing/Hunting Flea Market & Swap
« on: March 08, 2003, 06:36:41 PM »
Hi Guys,

I heard that there is supposed to be a fishing/hunting flea market & swap next Saturday (3/15/03) at the Mystic Rod & Gun Club. I believe this is in North Stonington, CT.  Does anyone have any more info on this?
I'm going to try to find out more about it if I can.

Maybe I'll see some of you guys there. If we can't fish, at least we can look at some tackle.

Boating Forum / Wiring my boat
« on: February 14, 2003, 05:28:45 PM »

I'm doing some work on my boat this winter and I was wondering if I should wire the accessories (live well pump and fish finder) to the battery used for the trolling motor or to the main battery. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm looking for a cap to fit a 1994 long bed chevy pick up. It doesn't matter if it is aluminum or fiberglass, but it needs to be reasonbly priced. (cheap). Thanks.

General Non-Fishing Chatter / SNOW
« on: February 07, 2003, 09:39:03 AM »
Well, it's snowing like crazy here in RI this am. Supposed to get anywhere from 4-12" depending on which weather report you listen to.

Still going out fishing on Sunday at Watchaug's North Camp, though we'll probably need to bring snow shovels with us. The fishing has been really good so it should be worth it. I'll let you all know.

Northeast U.S. Fishing Reports / Ice fishing is near
« on: January 11, 2003, 01:52:32 PM »
Went by Meadow Brook yesterday. There was some ice, but not enough yet. Hopefully, with all of this cold weather we can get some safe ice here in Southern RI. I've got all my gear ready to roll. It's not quite as good as being out in the boat, but at least it is fishing.

Boating Forum / Adding a fishing platform
« on: January 11, 2003, 12:26:35 PM »
I can't remember who from the old forums was asking about adding a platform in the front of a 14' aluminum V hull, but I did this to my 14' last winter. I used the existing front 2 seats as structural supports. I used 2 layers of 5/8" marine plywood because I cut in some storage areas in between the seats.

To get the correct configuration, I made some full size templates out of cardboard. When satisfied with the fit, I transferred to the plywood. I also added a pedestal seat.

Overall, I am very happy with the modification.

This winter I plan on adding a rear platform and one or two live wells. 8) 8) 8)
