Find Fishing Partners / In need of a fishing partner!

Due to my fishing buddy moving to florida. I am now in search for another partner. My name is Matt, and I am 19. Pretty new to the bass fishing game. (grew up trout fishing or whatever bit my line) I am working on getting a kayak to actually get out on the water. But I primarily bank fish. Located in charlestown rhode island. Id really like to stay in southern RI, but I am open to trying out some new spots. Thanks everybody!

Nice! Who could complain about fishing at the beginning of march?

This would be an awesome experience for me as well. Ive never fished off a real boat and with a really experienced fisherman. Im like a sponge and love to learn. I think Asori Fishing has a great idea going on here! maybe a tournament with one experienced fisherman and one rookie? That would be cool.

Thanks everybody! I think going slow is probably what i was doing wrong. I tend to reel in quite fast, but I am now well informed! You guys have my hopes up now for next week when its in the 50's to go out and try again.

Been out twice and havent caught a bass. Been throwing a chartreuse spinnerbait (no trailer, not sure what to put on the back of that) jigs (football head, finesse jig and one with rattles) and a Pumpkin seed pattern lipless crank. No luck. Even threw on a watermelon red flake yum dinger figuring what the heck cant get any worse! I need some help with baits to throw now into the spawn. This is pretty much the first time ive spring fished for bass. Thank you!!

Thanks Curt! You do love your spinnerbaits! You like black right? Or is that just at night?

Awesome. I will may just take you up on that offer too. Thanks curt for the advice. This is kind of my first "real early spring/late winter" bass fishing season. What would you recommend to throw when the ice melts?

Me too. Hopefully the water temps get to at least 40 by the time mid march rolls around. I have all my baits and rods ready to roll. I actually just got my first baitcaster and I have to go out and practice!

Looking like a warmer week this week coming up averaging in the 40's here in rhode island. Hopefully this rain tonight will melt away some of this snow and the ice on the water and we can get out on the water by march! Cannot wait to get my feet on the waters edge and fish! And not freeze doing so.

Curt recommended the green pumpkin red flake color soft plastic to me for the summer time and the yum dingers are my go to bait! I also like the yum dingers with the yellow tip works really well also

Ive fished arcadia in the early spring from the banks with o.k success. Out on my buddys canoe we fished near the banks and we did well, but there isnt alot of shore access and gets quite weedy. Curt and Joe could probably answer my question about bank access at Tiogue. Cant really think of any other places for tourneys.

I grew up bank fishing. I love to bank fish. I cant sit down in my canoe for more than a couple hours. I think its pretty cool to say that my personal best was off the bank and at a pond that people said that isnt worth fishing! proved them wrong with a 4+ larry last year
