go take a trip to glasgo.....ouch....gotta be at least 12 feet down for dam repairs......nice to see what it looks like without water...but I also heard they had a huge fishkill because of the drawdown....why cant the state do something to protect these fish....might want to reconsider your tourneys there for awhile.........they drained boon lake a few times many yrs ago and it killed the place......if all those fish were still there at glasgo....that water would be boilin with fish..... :'(.......cause there isen,t much water left....

I,m sure we all have caught are share of lures fishing....I know i have,.. you name it cranks, spinners, worms etc...

caught a pflueger medalist reel at watchaug one day   string and all but no rod...still works great

have reeled up many a mussel at wordens

a bullfrog on a rubber worm at a farm pond in ashaway

a  good sized snapping turtle on a senko at another farm pond in hopkington

,one day at long pond in ct...i thought i had a giant....i feel this dead weight ...then it starts  swaying from side to side....soon i pull up a rope...tied to another rope.....and as you can guess ...i end up pulling up this cinderblock  someone was using for an anchor

one morning down at the wood river i pull in some underware...next cast i pull in a bra..skinny dipping anyone
one day at watchaug   me and my budDy are fishin north camp area...when i feel this stinging  on top of my head and string all around me....I,m like what the %$#$....MY BUDDY HAD JUST CAUGHT MY SKULL WITH AN AnCIENT HIAWIAN WIGGLER....WE TRYED TO GET IT OUT...BUT IT WAS IN THERE....FISHED FOR ANOTHER HOUr AND A HALF ...AND headed to the westerly hospital....iturn to the nurse to show her my problem and she says...oohh fishin season must be open...your the first one of the year...the doctor even saved the lure for me...still down in the basement...so i can bust my buddys balls every time he comes up to fish with me once a year

a long tme ago me and my dad are on a float trip of the pawcatuk river..we hit this little bend in the river and see a school of huge browns...so we start casting everywhere...soon we see bubbles coming up...hhhmmm..strange we think...cause theres alot of bubbles....all of a sudden this guy scuba diving pops up out of the water.....my dad read him the riot act for not having a float marker...  and we moved on up the river to fish some more

my buddy was on a fishing dragger years ago and he said they pulled up a mini van...screwed there nets up for a half day..but life goes on ..when your on the ocean....

lets hear some more storys guys..after many years on the water  everyone has a funny story to tell.......donny

Northeast U.S. Fishing Reports / fall is here and the fish were out
« on: October 14, 2010, 01:59:50 PM »
:)The weather looked to good to pass up yesterday...so i took the boat out to that big body of water they call a pond near my  house.
fished from 7:30-2:00pm....water was not as low as i thought it would be....and as usual this year the weeds weren't as bad either. One other boat out there when i arrived[was that you curt, looked like your truck]......fished the coastline for awhile, picked up some small perch and pickeral
..moved out thru the weed channels and was seeing more fish, picked up some more little guys....and just kept trolling  along....caught two2.5# largemouths in and around the weeds .....kept fishing  weed lines....and then i locked into my biggest fish yet  10.5# pike....what a fight,he came and went 4-5 times stripping line as he pleased.....he finally calmed down and i boated him...he measured 30".....got em on a mini strikeking spinnerbait [small but effective]...8# test mono w/ no leader...boy was i lucky he didn't cut that line ,he was hooked good and wasted that lure.....man that was fun...my biggest freshie yet...ended the day with a 3# pickeral.....sorry couldn't get any pix  i was buy myself and it didn't fit in the viewfinder.[guess i need one of those hat cams]...just wanted to get him back and out of the sun.....wish  my buddy was with me!!!...........i'll be back again  and this time i'll get some pix for the memories...............donny
