I noticed the last few times out it was around 75.

The water levels have been high all summer for a change. I fished Wordens this week, can't remember the last time i was able to launch there in mid August !

7 years is a good run for a battery, you would be on borrowed time if you kept it!

I don't follow moon phases but i don't like fishing around a full moon anytime of the day.

I know others swear by it but i don't have much success during the full moon peirod!

When Bass got super hard to catch I used to tie on the old reliable "beetle spin".

I still use them occasionally  8)

Fishing Tackle & Equipment Reviews / Shimano SLX
« on: June 16, 2019, 12:55:48 PM »

Been seeing great reviews on the new SLX reels from Shimano and wanted to try one. Found them on sale at Sportsman Warehouse and bought one.

When i first took it out of the box i wasn't sure i was going to keep it. It felt a little tight, it was smooth just not free spinning. Ergonomics felt great in my hand, i have 30 days to return it so i figured i might as well try it.

Spooled 12lb P-Line on it and was really impressed how well this thing cast. felt really smooth reeling the bait in. I've been using it for over two weeks now mostly fishing swim jigs and spinnerbaits and i think it's my new favorite reel. I wish they had the high speed model on sale but can't find any anywhere under MSRP.  I will be buying another

I like hot weather and warm water best for frogging, and i like fishing pads the best!

The best frogging is ahead of us  8)

I fished there last year and caught a few, one was over 3lbs.

To me it fished the same as it always did...tough  :)
