 :o          great pics!!

Just one question: Isn't it kinda hard to tow it on its side like that??  ;D
LOL its more Aerodynamic like that. Saves gas.

Anyways, camper is sold.

Side note: Dont put your phone number on craigslist when you are selling something. Craigslist doesnt have teh ability to "remove" your post after being sold. I sold that camper a month ago and still get 4-5 calls a day. Everyday. I have to wait until the listing removes itself after enough people post on taht same page and push it off the end of the list.  >:(

I brought my youngest out on Friday to the French River in Webster and Carbucle Pond in Oxford. I didnt see beds in either. Did see schools of 20 or so 2-3 inch LMB in the shallows.

LOL, the local kids in Webster used to have to spell and pronounce the correct name back in middle school as part of History class.

As for the shore fishing, the town recently (I dunno how to say this) "bulked up" the shore line around the town launch and the peninsula with rocks held down by heavy gauge steel wire and has made the first 10-15 feet from shore very shallow. It used to drop off pretty good, 10 feet deep if you went out 10 or 15 feet. now its more like 2-5 feet deep 15-20 feet out from shore. Good thing? I know alot my hooks end up in that mesh.

I did get my first LMB of the year out of there last week. A tiny 12 incher. He fought just a little bit then gave up. The water was still very cold last week but it still counts considering if this was a regular winter there would still be ice on the lake LOL

Just bought a Jon boat. Thank you for the consideration but I wont be accepting trades.

Thats the Craiglist link with pics. i didnt want to load up Curt's site with my pics. Im looking for $850 as is. Ive used it many times with my kids in the past 5 years. Its got some hiccups but nothing major. Hard plastic sides (not canvas).

Never used the stove though its all there (old LP tank).

Call Chuck at 508-688-9475.

Located in Webster MA.

Will consider trading for 10-12 foot jon boat w electric trolling motor in good shape.

Kids dont want to camp anymore, they would rather fish and stay at a rental property. Whats with kids these days?  ;D

What a slap and it was what, 30 feet out?

How deep do you think it was there?

I spotted tons of beds on a small farm pond here in the Webster area. No fish on the beds though. Dunno if its too late in the season or what.

Just once Id like to see this guy in a pic WITHOUT the smile. Hes too happy to be a fisherman. Gitta put in some of those "Ahh cmon, you didnt tie the anchor before you tossed it in?" pics. Or my personal fav " I know I left my rod here before we left that last spot (pole now on the bottom of the lake)" kinda pics...

Im always catching Pikerals. Constantly making me second guess what is on the line until it gives up and just floats toward the kayak. My problem with them is that when handled, if you holdem too long and get the slime off thier skin they die. I hear the slime has something to do with breathing. I try to wiggle the hooks out but most of the time they are buried deep in these guys mouths. Cut the line and lettem live I always say. That and they are always tearing the tails off of my power worms. Ggrrr.  >:(

I wnet out yesterday also here in MA. Could figure out what they wanted. Werent hitting Tequila Sunrise worms, not hittin pumkinseed w/ chartruse nor HGrubs.

It was strange cause the weekend before they were tearing the chartruse to shreds. Beds are completely empty. Seems most were on weed beds 10-15 feet off shore in about 6-15 ft of water (3-7pm).

I saw a monster, had to be at least 20 inches and 5lbs. AT LEAST. I was floating into a cove in my kayak and setting up my gear when I went to flick my cigg and saw her. With a kayak you can float into an area and the fish dont care. They just sit there until you are literally on top of them and even then they just slowly swim away. Its like ninja fishing...

I take my boy out with a couple dozen shiners and fish. he loves it. Though at age 9, i think hes plenty old enough to take the fish off the hook once he catches one. he doesnt think so. hes too much like his mother... ::)

The Hawg Forum / Re: Boat Launches - Open or Closed
« on: April 20, 2010, 11:06:52 AM »
Webster Lake is closed.

Been closed since the first big storm we had. The water at teh launches ais fine. Doesnt look to me (a person who has frequented the launches MANY times) liek teh water is more than a ft more than usual. I think there is something wrong with the dam/release gates that flow through Cranston Print's property as I saw numerous town trucks tearing down the fence and working on the release/valve controls.

The French River has been at its peak for over 3 weeks. Its has finally settled down to a normal flow and height. Perhaps now that Hodges/Buffumville dams have leveled back out they will let the lake water down. The lake's water runs through Crantson to the French.

The Hawg Forum / Re: CT Licenses....
« on: April 20, 2010, 11:00:43 AM »
I know I wanted to get an out of state lic for CT this year but when I saw teh rpices I couldnt believe it. Absolutely out of control. I called te DEP in CT to make sure I wasnt reading a misprint and they confirmed. I never laughed at some1 so hard in my life. They said they have been getting alot of that lately. Now down to $55? Thats still outragous. I bet that the big wigs in the capitol figured no1 would care, until nobody bought thier over priced lic and fished anyways.

I always buy my MA lic. Just cause its the right thing to do. Now its about the state just trying to make up for lost revenues? How is that a fisherman's fault? $55 down from $80? I think I wont be visiting Ct to fish other than my buddies' place on Quaddick.
