Boating Forum / trolling motor batteries
« on: April 16, 2018, 12:26:27 PM »
I need some advise on my trolling motor issues' I had a 80lb fortrex on my boat but it seemed like the batteries wouldn't last for a full tournament,so I bought a 112lb fortrex and added a third battery and I still cant make it through a full day. now,i'm an electrician so I constantly put a meter on my batteries and load test them they seem to be fine and they all charge up good. I hava napa marine group 27 batteries 2 of them are 2 seasons old and 1 is new last june. I do like to troll pretty fast but the 112 fortrex running at 60 per cent doesn't last. I'm thinking of trying three agm batteries. does anyone have any advise about them ? I know they cost more and if anyone knows where I can get a deal on 3 of them please let me know. thanks

hi all just to let anyone who fishes my wed night trail,  my tournament for 8/9 on billings lake has been changed to glasgo pond. the deep has billings as a bass management lake and they don't give any waivers for their slot limit in july or august. so if you know anyone who fishes them please help me spread the word thanks. my other club has had a tourney on glasgo and we caught some nice fish so that is good news after the massive drawdown. thanks mike p.

The Hawg Forum / ct.tournament permits
« on: June 19, 2017, 04:57:08 PM »
hey all, all the permit filers in ct have received an email from bill foreman of the ct fisheries division regarding violations. they are getting reports of people going over the limits of boats permitted at the launch, also not letting the public launch and load in a timely fashion. I guess there were a few complaints about pachaug pond and ct river ,bashan and candlewood as well as other locations. at one tourney they were 6 boats over the limit so the last 6 that signed up got 135 dollar fines. so,if anyone is planning a tourney on a ct lake or pond be careful to abide by the permit limitations. they also said the permitee could lose their rights to pull permits and also their fishing, hunting and trapping license's. just thought this might be helpful for anyone planning a tourney in ct. they will be checking permits at the launches. I hope this helps out !

hey guys,I've got the wed night schedule made up and will attach,I also have my cold water trail made out for the fall. I will be dropping off schedules and apps for the h&R open to all the local tackle shops and to thayers and Reynolds marina's I've added a little to the wed night trail, the team or boat with the most wins through the trail will get to fish the last tourney which is a day tourney for free !! in case of a tie we will go by total weight for the year. just a little incentive for everyone to weigh all their fish in. so here are the schedules and hope to see you at these tourneys !!thank you mike p.

well,it's that time of year again ! yay ! as some of you know I was just coming off a huge surgery last year so we didn't hold the honor and remember tourney. well i'm happy to report that i'm feeling awesome now and i'm one year cancer free!! o/ we are holding the honor and remember ct chapter open bass tourney this year on may 28th at pachaug pond. I will be getting applications printed up and put out at all the local tackle shops soon. I have attached a cover page and application page for anyone who wants to print out and send in. I am hoping to get a good crowd to show up for this awesome event. for those of you that haven't been to one ,we raise money to present a custom honor and remember flag to families of fallen soldiers. we have a family presentation on the day of the tournament following the weigh in. it is a very humbling event and makes you proud to be a part of it. I certainly hope some of you guys can be there thanks mike p.
