« on: May 11, 2019, 04:19:40 PM »
Now that warmer weather is on the way and already here for some of us I have a weather question for you,if u cant get off the water in a bad lightning storm where do u go? Do in the south with the bigger lakes it's a toss up it seems between stay where you are as ur a small target in a large space and run for the nearest 4lane bridge.whats ur opinion?

for the next few months the slab crappie and bream (bluegill, shellcracker, redears and such) will be flooding the bridges and train treasell and night.large numbers of 2+pounders are and will be caught. If anyone is down this way let me know.my arms are getting tired.

Northeast US Lake Conditions / pachaug water level
« on: April 13, 2013, 08:52:26 PM »
at ice out i was happy to see the lake at full pool but that was not to last.not much after, the water started to drop once again.the lake is now near a foot low if not more.last spring at spawn time the lake was very low and it seems it is on its way back to being as low as last spring.can anyone tell me why?last year it was weeds and dam repair,i have no clue why this time.i am sure someone smarter than i will have an answer but to me its the wrong time of year for low water. >:(

Northeast U.S. Fishing Reports / hopeville pond
« on: April 28, 2012, 06:58:49 AM »
spent a couple hours there on fri afternoon.water temps are in the low 60s with lots of large carp spawning in the shallows upstream.if they r not spawning than they r havein mma matches in the brush.i caught several decent bass on a chatterspin type bait in white with a green worm trailer.my best fish came on soft plastic from green to blue to red.all the bass i got of worthwhile size came from wood in less than 5 feet of water.was hard to get out of the wind but a trip i am glad i made.i hear there is a tourney there today from one of the rangers but believe it a club thing.the bass r warming up but i saw no beds.

Fishing Tackle & Equipment Reviews / trokar swimbait hooks
« on: July 22, 2011, 10:01:02 PM »
i recently paid the 10 bucks for a pack of these hooks.i had been using owners for my frogs and was losing some fish after a few seconds and that was getting old.the trokar worked very well at fixing the problem but if the frog was hit just right the bait keeper spring would stretch to the point they could no longer be used.well it took little more than a week to have three of the five hooks of no use to me.let me say i think the hook is great but needless to say i think the keeper springs suck.so i set out to see what i could do.i went to the trokar site and found no contact info so i called cabelas which is where i had bought them and they had no info that would me.well not bein one to give up i called basspro who told me that trokar was a line made by wareagle.this did not sound right but they gave me the number and i called,of course i was right.wareagle told me that trokar was made by eagleclaw and gave me their number.when i called eagleclaw i was told i was the first to have this problem,i said i was more likely the first to keep trying till i found out who to call.i was asked to please send them back the keeper springs so they could be tested and they would send me new hooks and springs. over all i think the hook is the best i have used and will buy them again.hopefully with better springs.
