Nice!  I finally broke the 3lb mark this week with a 4lb 6oz on a frog.  Big ones were few and far for me this spring :P

The Hawg Forum / Evinrude ends motor production.
« on: May 29, 2020, 09:31:57 AM »
Was kind of a stunner this week when Evinrude announced they were ending Etec & G2 production!

I've never owned any other brand of engine, always had Johnson or a Rude on my boats. My current G2 is my favorite so far.
I have 7 more years of warranty left, hopefully that gets honored if i need it. They claim they will and will still make the parts for them.

it's kind of sad to see them go after such a long history in the boating world  :(

Turning the corner now for sure.  Water temps are holding in the 60's and saw a lot of spawning activity this week.

Now it will probably jump right into summer heat!

I had a similar experience a few years ago with a AGM battery, bought a new one and was having the same problems! Ended up being my battery charger.

Bad thing was i turned the other battery in for the core charge  :P

Unfortunately it's not worth the risk travelling out of state till this mess is over!

Going to ruin a lot of spring trips for people. Hope it's cleared up by the fall  :P

May 1st is tomorrow and finally a weekend in the 60's with sun  :)

It's been a rainy and cold April. Went out yesterday and water temps were still  48 - 50.  I won't miss April  ;D

Boating Forum / Re: Made the move to Ultrex

Not really. Where the trolling motor is it wont reach to under the edge of the boat. So it still works but it's not longer a solid 3 season travel cover.

A lot of guys have had a upholstery shop modify their existing covers to fit the Ultrex. A good shop could do it reasonable and it wouldn't be noticeable when done!

Nice! Like to do that myself in the future.    Does the factory cover still fit if you have one?
