i had my rear brake line under hood go pulling boat out of quabbin couple years ago. 1998 full size dodge 2500. luckily it was the rears. stopped at first place, bought brake fluid and drove all the way back to southern ct trying not to hit the brakes at all. had to stop a few times to top off brake fluid but it worked out fine.
would have been much worse of a time trying to stop if it was fronts. i did use some down shifting but its usually manageable when you lose a line. just have to be very careful. I suspect its probably a lot worse towing a heavy bass boat. probably also helpled having lots of trucking experience

I tried to connect to my tablet but navionics kept saying not connected. I wasnt on the water though and suspect that might have been the issue. Didnt try on the water yet. I probably wont use it though. I prefer to log and create privately using gofree since i do my own things in the small boat or kayak

Guess i have an open seat again sunday if weather permits. I dont mind a little rain and specialy dont mind clouds. As of now its east 5mph cloudy with 50% change of showers.

heading up around 1:15am, taking a nap (if i can sleep) then going after smallies as usual. Hitting gate 43 (fishing area 3)
Can meet me there or can pick you up if you are in my route of 95 to 91 to 90 into Ware area. Commuter lot is ideal so keep that in mind.
if you plan to meet me at the gate, you must be there very early. Once i launch the boat i will not wait because you are 30 cars behind. I will be very close to the front of the line.

DO NOT just show up and expect to fill the seat. Text me and make sure its still available. I post this in other places besides here on this site.

Usually takes me 2 hours to get there with a fuel stop. Last week took 3 hours with couple of pit stops and it was really nice not having to fly to make sure i was close to the front of the line.

Haven't been there in a month. Don't know what to expect. Can only try to fish deeper drops for smallies.
Anyone interested? Expect long day on water chasing smallies.

I leave Milford CT about 2:30am and can pick up partner as long as you are in my path. 95 to 91 to 90 into Ware mass. Can meet me at Walmart andeave your car there or pay $6 to park in quabbin launch area.
First stop is shallow flat on the way to honey bole, unless water is to low to get into and around either one. Waters been very low since last summer so it has all changed to unknowns
Anyways, don't text to late, I'll be sleeping
Must be in line by 4:50am, otherwise takes forever to get thru

Hard to "lock down" a day or days. weather is key and never really know until a couple days ahead of time if its gonna be good. Ok, maybe i shouldnt say weather. WIND! It can get pretty butal out there and its miserable in small tin boat if winds are just right

ill keep ya all posted  as we get closer

july 2nd, 3rd and 4th, oh and the 10th my usuals will probably hit me up, but thats not always set in stone, so i may be posting for partners those days as well

may be heading up saturday and would have seat available for partner. all depends on sundays forecast which i will not know until friday afternoon. Saturday supposed to be winds around 5mph. If sunday is good i will be heading up with a usual partner that day instead

im having problems losing sonar at speeds, but not depth. was using elite hdi last season and had sonar and down imaging at speeds. Only does about 20mph. I was told i should have sonar at speeds with the total scan so i guess ill have to play with it.

i took of the mounting plate i had on back and hacked it up but want to put it back on so ill have to do that. I want to flip so cord comes out front again so side scan clears bottom end better. i moved motor back 7 inches and up some. Im now looking for a 8 inch jack plate to replace the mini jacker and spacing im on now.

Im sick of playing with it

i like recording and having gofree make me personal maps. found a sweet secret hole doing it last year. With the elite 4 and 5's i was using last year could only have one map on each sd card, so i had a bunch of cards and just changed them out as i changed places. with the gen3 and elite ti you can have as many maps on one card as you want, just put them in folders.
i also like how i can connect a phone or tablet via wifi to the ti at the console and look at it or control it while on the trolling motor up front.
basiclly these new ti units are pretty dang close to the gen3 units without the massive price tag

Heading into the slow season at work and the busy season of fishing 
Anyone that might be interested in fishing quabbin for smallies and whatever else, might keep an eye on the partners forum thru the season.
I have a couple partners that are usually interested in going but sometimes it just doesnt work out for them 
Last year i fished there more than ever and learned a ton. This season ive added side scan on the boat and am planning on learning more and finding more honey holes. Weather has to be good though
