Took advantage of the light winds and warm temps and hit Chapmans yesterday afternoon.
Only managed a couple small bass but it felt good to start a new season. Water temps were 48 - 52, tomorrow is going to be around 70 so might have to go again!

The Hawg Forum / Nice Weather!
« on: October 15, 2021, 04:55:04 PM »
What fall weather we're having this year!  Was out today and water temps were still 68, crazy for mid Oct!

Fishing hasn't been as good as the weather though for me. I'm catching fish but not much for size.

The Hawg Forum / Chapmans wash station

Stopped by the ramp to see how thick the weeds were and saw this. Probably a lot of money for something few will use.
And then there's always the vandals that you know will ruin it :P

The Hawg Forum / CT Trout season.
« on: June 02, 2021, 01:10:40 PM »
Just got the weekly email from the CT DEP and it said the Governor signed a bill for no closed season on trout fishing.

I hope RI doesn't follow suit as i like the tradition of opening day even though i rarely go anymore!

RI opening day is going to be on Wednesday April 7th. I guess they think there will be less crowding during the week!

The Hawg Forum / CT fishing open
« on: March 06, 2021, 11:50:02 AM »
Well CT opened the trout season early again this year due to Covid so everything is open!

I understand the thinking behind it but not sure if it was needed or not this year!
It cheats the people that like the tradition of opening day and hurts the tackle shops as that's a big day for them also!

RI, your next!

The Hawg Forum / Evinrude ends motor production.
« on: May 29, 2020, 09:31:57 AM »
Was kind of a stunner this week when Evinrude announced they were ending Etec & G2 production!

I've never owned any other brand of engine, always had Johnson or a Rude on my boats. My current G2 is my favorite so far.
I have 7 more years of warranty left, hopefully that gets honored if i need it. They claim they will and will still make the parts for them.

it's kind of sad to see them go after such a long history in the boating world  :(
