My mother found this book and gave it to me. Crazy to see how far bass fishing has come since 1947. Might attempt to build a lure from this book and see how it holds up in 2020

Me and @toadhunter fished today for a few hours and experienced 15+ mph winds, blue bird skies and snow dustings. It was one of those rare times I out fished him but on the way back in I put the nail in the coffin with this girl

Went out this morning with @toadhunter 44 degrees windy on and off rain. Caught 11 fish between use with our best 5 around 21 pounds. Started of slow and cold with only a few fish. Then the last hour and a half if picked up and we got on some very nice fish I hooked into this toad my new PB 6.9 ounces and @toadhunter caught this 4.8 these being the 2 biggest fish. We caught a few other from 3 - 4 pounds. Caught all my fish on a black and blue chatter bait and toad all on spinner bait. I got to give @toadhunter a shout out because if it was not for him taking me out i would have never landed this pig and broke my PB. Comment our best 5 weights if you can remember @toadhunter I think I got it right 21 pounds ?

Got out on the water this morning with @toadhunter fished for about 4 hours and managed to put 9 fish in the boat between us both. We where catching them on suspending jerk baits small paddle tail swim baits and I got this big girl on a black and blue jig in the first 20 min on the water .she was just over 4 pounds. Most fish where in 3-5 foot of water. Not a bad day of fishing seeing as the lake had ice on it 2 days ago.

Im going to California in march for a week and want to take some rods with me to fish when Im out there. I looked at travel tubes but don't want to spend that kind of money. I seen people talk about using PVC pipes. anyone here have experience with taking fishing gear on a plane if so how much extra did they charge to bring a rod tube or PVC pipe. Im going to be flying jet blue.

Just saw on the news two people where attacked by a beaver in ct on the Quinebaug river. Im posting this because last week i was fishing a pond off rt 44 and i had a huge beaver tail splash and chase me out from the back of the pond all the way to the front where i launched my kayak. I fished for another 10 min figured i was in the clear i would just stay up here. Then 10 feet in front of me out of no where he tail splash agian at that point i got off the water for about 45 min had lunch and went back out and caught a 4 pounder. Anyone else ever have problems with beavers.this was my first time seeing one on the water and it was scarey how close he was getting to me.

p.s im open to all beaver jokes share em if u got em

Fishing Tackle Q & A / reel cleaning fail

Last night i took apart my BPS qulifer reel to atempt to lube and clean it but when i put it back i must have done something wrong cause now when i turn the handle its not cacthing the spool and the star drag only turns a little up and down befor getting tight. It was late so i just left it like that im going to try and see if i can fix it tonight . If i cant any one know of a place i can bring it to get fixed. I know nothings broken i must of just not put ot back the right way.

When is it good to start night fishing and if anyone has alrdy started any tips? I can only get out like once a week usually earlie in the AM but would be able to fish more at night.

Went out yesterday and today in the morning yesterday i caught 5 fish all dinks mabye one was over 12 inch ..... Today 4 fish all on the white zoom super fluke here are the 2 best ones from today. Feels good to finally get on some fish.

Is the water still to cold for a morning bite (sunrise) i can only fish about once week and tomarrow in going to take yhe kayak out since the winds are going to be low. When have you guys been having your best luck. I have been struggling fishing from the bank getting skunked or only cacthing pickrel. Should i wait till the water warms up later in the day or can i still get a bite during sunrise or first light?

Going to BPS spring classic next week to take advantage of the sale and get ready for spring. I'm looking to get a crankbait rod should I get a rod that is specially made for cranking or would a medium mod or fast action be the same. I ask because the bps cranking stick is on sale for 60 bucks but they have the bps carbon light combo for 99

Day 32 without fishing. I can hardly eat I barley sleep all I can think about is fishing I get home from work and my son trys to play with me but all I can do is look at my tackle. Life just seems pointless with out fishing. Don't know if I am going to make it to March ..................
