I was able to get out on the water today with Isaac and test everything. The Ghost TM is a completely different feel than my MinnKota! Brushless and electronic steering. Very responsive but yet oddly there is a slight delay :hmm: . It moves my boat without even a hesitation and Spot lock, Course Lock and intergraded navigation from the FF are big time game changers.

I think fish will be jumping in the boat before I even cast! (giggle)

I've wrestled with boat positioning for years, especially since I actually target windy areas pretty often. This solves that problem as long as I'm fishing in less than 8 feet of water, which I do more often that not.

I can't wait to put my Spot Lock to work.   ;)

That is a great upgrade @Curt - RI !

With everything I did this year my "fishing" bank account is wiped out. However since deciding I'm not getting a new boat for a while and my powerpole is 10+ years old. I'll be doing some research over the summer.

This is the root of the problem with Tech! Love it when it is working and want to throw it in the water when it is not! Even with my background of 20 years in IT trying to learn how to do everything in my new Lowrance is blowing my mind. LOL

Keep it simple is always the best but not as fun! Great job stepping through the diagnosing and utilizing support!
If you get the right person they can save you a TON of time and teach you a few tricks!

PS Glad to hear they weren't DOA replacement stuff is getting hard to find!

Yup a double usb and a 12V car adapter (Cigarette light).

Going to put Nav lights, Deck Lights, Live well lights and disco ball   (giggle)  on the open switches.

Another quick cleanup project. From adding LEDs and other accessories through the years, I needed a way to clean up my switches.

Installed this last night. Ended up rewiring it a bit because it came factory wired as constant on. Now it works off my main accessories stitch and switch 1 on the panel turns the panel on/off. As it turned out I found my boat was pre-wired for a radio so once I cut the hole I fed the wire through and put on some new ends and had instant power.

O Yeah also installed a new livewell switch because my was get stuck and was driving me nuts!

Didn't like the wires showing so got a little creative.  ;)
Some wire protector I had and $12 amazon waterproof wire covers.

Will do!   I can't wait to get it on the water! Just finished calibrating the auto level stow feature. Now when you bring it up to the deck it turns and lays flat.  ;D

I was able to check off 2 big items from my list.
TM installed and New Seats installed.

TM install went well except for one of the nylon centered nuts on the old TM stripped and started spinning in place. We got in an epic battle for about an hour.  Sometimes getting into these projects is a good thing! Last year I was tripping fuses with my TM but wasn't sure why. Well it ended up the wire harness put on by who will remain an "unnamed" local marine dealer used cheap connectors and a bad crimp job so the wires were wiggling in the connector. Not great for a 36V TM

Seats I had to get a little creative because the old seat started as a bench seat. The bottom of the bench seat is what gave the sheet metal bench stability. So if I just mounted the seats directly in place it would have caved in. I pealed off the old seats removed 1000 staples and saved the base. Then recarpeted that and mounted the seats to it. I was then able to reuse the existing hinges.

Over all about 4-5 hours worth of work but well worth it!-Mitz

I have been taking a bunch of photos. Friday I'm taking a day off from work just to knock out the list.
I'll be sure to update by this weekend.
Nice weather makes working in the garage so much easier!

Come on head out there and give them a try! If they can hold you in place today you should be good to go for whatever mother nature throws at you during the season.  (giggle)

Hate to be that guy
Don't worry you are not "that guy". I 100% agree the quality of parts make the bait! I just cry a lot less when one of the ones I make snaps off mid cast and sails across the lake!! :crying:  (giggle)

Lure Making / Re: New patterns for the Spring

Color patterns look spot on for spring!   I definitely gravitate to the Colorado blade too. When I can feel the thump I have so much more confidence!

Do you always use the snap swivels on the blades? I fight with split-rings only because I felt like snap rings have a little extra catch points for weeds.

If you don't notice that while fishing, I might convert to save some aggravation when I'm making spinnerbaits.
