The Hawg Forum / Post Spawn??

@ProvidenceBassHunter and I took advantage of the light winds this morning and landed dozens of fish. The weird thing was that all the fish seemed to be skinny post spawn fish.

Two weeks ago I was catching fish in a Foot of water on lay downs/wood. Now after the snow and rain it seems they pulled off a little, the bite was sluggish today but got a few healthy ones, after next week I'm sure they'll be back up. Welcome to New England

I have caught a lot of fish (120+) this season but they've been mostly small. For the rest of the week I decided to target bigger fish and fish places that produce them. Today it payed off with this chunk that was fooled by a 5" paddle tail.

Fished 8 hrs in two different states with my friend and we put smack down on them. Most fish were in a foot or two of water on submerged wood and fell to the spinnerbaits. We literately caught 4 dozen+.

@Curt - RI , I find they are a great all around bait but they really excel in cold water. It's just most people fish them too fast, when you think you're going slow, slow down some more. They're a great numbers bait.

Had to break out the cold weather gear this morning. Actually started out good, then the bite slowed. Caught 10 on paddle tails and jerkbaits.

The jerkbait bite has started and it looks like next weeks weather will put the fish on the feed. Today I caught 10 bass, 8 of them on the jerkbait. No big fish yet but tomorrow should be even better.

Got out to a small pond yesterday that iced out last week due to the warm week we had. Fished for four hours and found 4 bass on out side weed edges. Caught every fish on my new "Hulk" spinnerbait.
