Got out yesterday and had perfect timing on a bite window just 2 days after ice-out. Found some fish in 3 to 4 FOW soaking up the sun.

@metz12 , never understood the whole swimbait craze, but I just can't bring myself to throw a 3 or 4 oz bait all day for a handful of strikes, let alone spend 100 to 200 on one bait. I will give those guy's credit though for their dedication. The disparity of fishermen is baffling, these guy's shell out big$$ for baits when others won't spend $7 on a spinnerbait but those same guy's buy a pack of senkos that will be gone in two trips. Go figure.

Merry Christmas. Looks like this season is over unless we get a warm spell. I landed 1202 bass and explored several new fisheries two that were gems. Here is my year end slide show. http://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=356832339577306&id=100057516285252&comment_id=357028

The Hawg Forum / Deep cranking in Dec

It's that time of year when you can get some nice fish by deep cranking off-shore humps. Got this one in 15 fow on a 9 ft hump.

@groti , I for one have never had a post censored on this site and I post a lot. Once in a while a post get moved to a new location but probably because I posted in the wrong spot. I am on several forums and the trash talk is tolerated on some but not others. I never post weights of fish I post because there are always people that are either jealous or just like to cause trouble. A healthy debate is ok but I find people to be negative and that's just not the point of posting. Just my opinion.

The Hawg Forum / Forgotten fish

Caught this fish 2 weeks ago and forgot to post it here. Fish were up at the inflow of this pond munching spinnerbaits. Even the small fish were stuffed with bait.

@metz12 Can I bring my canoe and fish, or is it shore fishing only? Would be happy to donate if I could get on the water and catch some Smallies.

Anyone on here know if the water level on Johnsons Pond is low enough to get under the Isle of Capri bridge?  @Mitz ?

Got on a good bite this morning with a one two punch of a spinner and a spider grub. Boated a 15 1/2 lb limit, then switched to a river and caught 7 more on the spinner. Moving water has been a more reliable bite in the heat.

@Tatsu Dave , redeemed myself two days later (see river outing), the pond I fished two days prior was small and the weeds were dying so the fish were sluggish. Moving water is always better in the heat.
