Hey gang!
It's been a while since I've posted or participated in a thread. Life here in NC has kept me oh so busy; much busier than I had anticipated.
Believe it or not, I've only had my boat out once since arriving here in December. My first couple of months were pretty intense with projects to get moved in and settled.
January and February flew by, and then March was cold and windy so I opted only to fish some small ponds from shore, catching a few good quality bass.
Then, I finally took the boat out in May, to the best local bass lake in my area. I managed to spend 4 hours out that day before the sun got too hot and we packed it in. But I did land one decent bass and lost another one that looked to be over 3 lbs.
After that, I dove back into more home projects that took up the rest of my summer. On top of that, the heat here is pretty brutal during the day, so I opted to stay off the water for that reason as well.
Because I don't know the lake well, I chose also not to fish at night for safety reasons.
Now that September is rolling in, I'm hoping to start getting out there again on a more frequent basis so I can learn the water.
The lake I plan on learning has no map available, so I bought a Zero Line SD card for my Helix, which allows me to map the lake as I fish it. I believe that will be helpful. Time will tell.
Once I start getting out there I'll begin posting again.
In the meantime, I hope everyone back in New England is doing well.
