So, here is my review on the Kastking Royale Legend 200 series casting reel found here : http://kastking.com/products/kastking-royale-legend-ii-200-baitcasting-fishing-reel

I throw some bigger baits. Not a TON, but a decent amount. The biggest bait I throw is a 3 1/2oz rat that I made. I got this reel to pair with my Tsunami inshore casting rod. 7' heavy action. Anyways, I got this reel because I wanted the bigger spool for really sending out long casts on those bigger baits. I figured I would give this a try since its reasonably priced and I have had good luck with KastKing reels in the past.

First I have to say, this thing is tight. No play in the handle, spool, and side plate. Very impressed when I took it out of the box. I spooled it up with some 20lb Stren high impact Mono and went to town. It has some very very smooth casting. Super quiet as well. Handles a few of the bigger wakebaits I throw with ease and would really handle a lot heavier baits as well I feel. My rod takes up to 4oz baits so I dont have any that go over that rating. I have landed a good amount of fish on it now, nothing of true size, but has handled some extra sporty 2 1/2-3lbers with ease. Plus with 22lb of drag you can really crank down on it and winch those fish right in the boat.

I have even thrown 3/8oz buzzbaits on this reel when I was a co angler on another boat, to cut down on rods I brought on another boat. I switched the rod of course, but that doesn't concern things.

The only negative thing I have to say is the 6:4:1 gear ratio is actually a little fast for my liking with that big spool of line, so I have to slow myself down a bit but doesn't bother me too much.

If anyone is looking for a budget "big" bait casting reel I really would recommend this one. I would like to see how well it holds up over time. It should last me a long time since its not used as much as say my spinnerbait reel.
I make baits, so when I fish, I am product testing! And when I am not using baits I make, I am researching.

I have the Smaller Royal Legend II that performs well also.  Just noticed the 200 is double the price of the regular model. Seems like a big increase for a bigger spool..still a good deal

I have a couple royal legend IIs that I had to retire last season and they served me well. Its honestly a totally different reel, and I like the quality of this one better then the other normal size royal legend IMO. Like I said the only downside being I wish the gear ratio was a little slower with that big spool of line full.

This one is my only kastking casting reel in my lineup now, but my spinning rod sports a Centron 3000. Best spinning reel for the money in my opinion. I have a buddy that is a wicked shimano head. He has like 3 or 4 curados DC casting reels, and he sports a centron on his spinning combo. You cannot beat it.

Where do you get these reels serviced if something breaks or are they disposable?

It doesn't seem they have a service department where you can send your reel back to them to get it fixed. They do offer parts though to be repaired. There is a few guys in New England that do a lot of repair and service on reels.

Give their website a visit. http://kastking.com/

I noticed there is a toll-free number in the upper right corner to call.

I have dealt with them on a few occasions and have had good success getting any problems I've had resolved.

I also just noticed this page: http://kastking.com/pages/warranty-services
