Wind and More Wind
« on: March 02, 2021, 11:41:21 AM »
I hope the winds we've had the last few weeks aren't an indication of how the Spring will be.

We had enough wind last year to cover all of this year already!

A month later and it's still hammering. Today and tomorrow it looks like we (inland at least) finally get a break from the nonstop 15-20mph northern blast. Always frustrating this time of year unless you have access to a southeast-facing bank! Or a boat with an anchor.

I was out this afternoon for a while. The wind blew the entire time, changing directions at least twice. It was a cold wind!

Well, this week has done nothing but add to all of the wind we've been having so far this Spring!

I had my first guide trip booked for this Friday, but it looks like that will be getting canceled due to 15-20 MPH winds, with gusts up to 30 MPH  ::)

I do hope it dies down sometime soon

I think the wind this Spring has already been worse than what we had last year  ::)

I'm already disgusted with this weather. I do hope that after this weekend it will lay down and start to settle down for us all.

Next week looks promising with the warm temps predicted, the nights even look warm finally.
Hopefully that will get the fish on the move!

Next week is definitely looking much better.

I don't even mind if the temps stay a little cool as long as the wind lays down a little! Although, having warmer weather definitely isn't objectionable  :nope:  (giggle)

I am actually surprised that there was more wind in the forecast for this morning. A friend of mine and I started running some small 3, 4 and 5 boat tourneys around southern RI and we cancelled Wordens for today, mainly because of the wind and then a bit on the rain side. But it doesn't seem to be all that bad. I mean it will be 40x worse on wordens being the wide open field it is.  We have a couple of guys with no outboards, and one guy that Just got his boat last year and hasnt been on it much, so i figured we would play it safe and just cancel it for safety sake.
I make baits, so when I fish, I am product testing! And when I am not using baits I make, I am researching.

Sometimes that's the best thing to do, even if the forecast turns out to be wrong

It hasn't really let up for 3 weeks or more now. I know that complaining won't fix it, but this is really getting old
