They don't read our playbook
« on: April 05, 2020, 03:38:20 PM »
A friend and I went out today and tried the usual baits in the usual spots (3 to 5 fow), with only 5 fish after two hours, we explored some shallower water and caught a couple more. I turned and went to the bank where we caught fish after fish in fallen trees and rising pad stems in 1 to 3 fow. We ended the day with 24 bass. It just goes to show you, they don't read our playbook.

@Curt - RI , yeah that's exactly what we did. We fished the main lake for 2 hours and only caught a few fish on jigs and jerkbaits but not a single fish on a spinnerbait. We explored shallow flats and caught 2 fish and that lead us to the shallow wood and pad pattern. Every fish up shallow hammered the spinnerbait. Most people would not have given it a second chance after not getting a bite but the water was a little clearer near the shore and the spinner was the right tool for the job.
