Idea for a transducer mount for a rowboat -easy on/easy off.
« on: April 27, 2019, 05:28:20 PM »
I have a bass boat, but many of the waters I fish only allow trolling motors or hand launch boats so I own a flat bottom and V bottom.
Problem is: what is the easiest way to mount a sonar transducer so it can be removed and stored?  So I came up with this idea:

Buy a door wreath hanger at any dollar store

Attach it to a board that's long enough that the transduce will be below the water line when mounted on the boat's transom:

Attach the transducer to the bottom of the board as shown and secure the transducer wire with plastic cable ties:

Use a clamp at the top to secure the mount:

The transducer which is above the boat's bottom isn't obstructed by weeds as the boat's bow pushes through them unlike a trolling motor transducer mount. Plus, when you use a cheap ratcheting bar clamp, the rig comes on and off in seconds.
