Monsters after ice out
« on: March 24, 2019, 06:10:30 PM »
If you don't fish in the early season(after ice out) you are missing out at a chance for a monster. @ProvidenceBassHunter and I went out mid-day today and timed things perfectly. We fished several spots and baits but in the end almost all of our 26 bass were caught in one protected cove in about 5 feet of water. There was only one bait they wanted and that was a perch colored suspending jerkbait, with long pauses. If you paused it, it got bit. Most bass were Bucks around 1 1/2 lbs but his big girl weighed in at 5lb 11oz's.

Thanks for posting for some reason it was not letting me post the photo using my phone. Anyway solid solid first day on the water for me this year now the goal is going to be to top this one and get a 6+. This is the 3rd year in a row that I have caught a 5 pounder just after ice out. You are not wrong if your not fishing  now your missing out on a chance to catch some big girls like this .
