I remember when you first started posting here in the forums years ago and I kept thinking that Burlingame was referring to Burlingame Park and Watchaug Pond in Charlestown  (giggle)

I remember and you not the first ;) ,  I want to get down to southern RI to try some ponds/lakes out this year.  Which would you recommend I try first? :hmm:

Depends on what you're fishing out of and what the weather is like on the day you go out.

Do you fish from a canoe or a boat?

Yeah I can do either canoe or boat i have both.  However old age is starting to kick in so i would rather use boat.

Wordens Pond is a great fishery. The reason I asked about the boat or not is that Wordens is large and can get windy, so it's not really a place I would recommend for canoe anglers.

Watchaug Pond is also a great place, although it can get pretty busy with boat traffic in the summer months, especially on weekends. Right now the boat launch is closed for repairs. Supposed to open back up in June sometime.

ok thanks Curt
I drove down to Wordens about 5 years ago or so with my canoe, I should have brought a surf board not a canoe.
Needless to say I did not drop the canoe in that day.

Mornings tend to be ok.. Afternoons can get real nasty real quick. That's a place where I check accuweather for the day but then check the hourly forecast to see what the wind will be like as the day goes on. Its the only place Ive ever used "rough water mode" on the talons.
