Wow! I had NO idea that there was such a thing as ice tournaments....

but just out of curiosity...

What is the actual opening gun "blast off" for an ice tourney? Is that when everyone tunes their augers and drills like there's no tomorrow?

Instead of "running and gunning" do the participants do an imitation of the classic 'shuttle run' and bolt from flag to flag?

Does the standard livewell resmble a roughneck tote with steel runners and a pull-rope?

and finally......

Are the bass stripped of any residual ice fragments before weigh-in? this could pose an infraction of the club's by-laws...

This is all in pure lighthearted humor!  ;D

The cabin fever is setting in a little.
The Jounrey IS the destination.

The ice fishing tournament on Pachaug Pond is Sunday 1/26/03 from 8:00am-noon. Registration is at 7:30am on Club Cove. Shot Gun Start. Winning fish based on total length. $$$ for largest BASS, Pike/Pickeral.
Sponsored by Griswold Fish and Game Club, Bethel Road, Griswold.

I've never been to an ice fishing tournament before, however it might be fun. The best part is that we can still make the meeting at Curt's.
A bad day fishing is still better than a good day at work!!
