Trailer Brake
« on: February 26, 2016, 04:55:31 PM »
Hello all,

I have recently discovered a problem with my boat trailer.  Whenever I back up, the brake comes on.  I believe the problem is with the brake actuator, but wanted to bounce the problem off the fishing crowd to see if anyone has had this problem before, and perhaps share the experience.

Also, is it possible that if I simply bleed the brakes, will the problem auto-correct, or is it possible that I'll have to completely replace the Brake Actuator?  There's plenty of video help on Youtube, but I'm hoping to save a few bucks and simply bleed the brakes, which I will no-doubt try before going to the expense of a new Brake Actuator.

Your thoughts and/or experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Check wiring good and check your backup light fuse in truck.  You should hear the actuator click when you put the truck in reverse.

I wish I could offer you some advice, but I've never had a trailer with brakes, so I have no experience at all.  :nope:
