I still think the DH is an advantage to the American League because the extra hitter for NL is usually not as good as the AL DH. Its a disadvantage for the AL team in an NL park because the DH who the AL team relied on for offense is replaced with a pitcher who can't hit.  NL pitchers are also a little better offensively than AL pitchers because they have more game experience.

How do you make that call in the 9th inning of a tied game...IN THE FRICKEN WORLD SERIES! I understand a rule is a rule, but you can make the case that the runner was inside the base line and tripped on the fielder after Middlebrooks dove for the ball towards second base, how much out of the way do you need to be? Hideous call!

Unbelievable is all I can say. I watched the replay several times, as I'm sure everyone else has. The guy running home was nowhere near where he should have been running, as mentioned, he was way INSIDE of the baseline and then he half steps on Middlebrook when he was trying to get up. And they call interference on Middlebrook!

On top of that, he never even came close to touching home plate.

Geesh. Oh well.. time to come back stronger tonight and try hard win the next 3, like Mitz said  ;D

The base line path from 3rd to home is not as defined as home to first, if so, every runner rounding third would be out of the baseline, heck, sometimes you would think they were running into the dugout!  He was well within the base line, running on the inside of the line is perfectly legal, you are taught when on third to stay on the outside of the line incase a batted ball hits you, it will be a foul ball.  Remember, when Craig got up he was in fair territory and started for home on the inside of the 3rd base line, perfectly legal.

What a way to end a WS game :P

I don't see what Middlebrooks could have done to get out of the way. Hopefully they can pull out a win tonight or it's all over :(

And Ferrel screwed up talking Dubrount out, should have gone another inning with him :-\

What an awesome ending to last night's game!!

Had they not picked him off at first, the game could have taken a whole other direction.

Go Red Sox!!

LOL.. also agree with not getting to bed very early on game nights!

Might just be the end of the series tonight. We'll see. One thing's for sure. St. Louis isn't just gonna roll over and play dead.

Go Sox!!
