Frog bite is on

With all the hot weather lately the frog bite is on in a big way. The last two weeks I have caught 36 bass on the frog.

Just really started getting back into fishing this year.  I LOVE top water and frogging.  I have to ask the secret to hooking up using a frog.  I throw the same one as in the pic above.  I get a ton of hits, so I am guessing I have a somewhat decent technique, but I cant ever seem to set the hook.  Most times it seems as if I am pulling the from out of the fish mouth.  I have waited a 2 count after the hit and tried to set it with not much luck either.  I have missed out on some pretty good lunks because of it.  Any tips or tricks??

You have to have patience with frogs!

I had a similar day back in July, kept missing fish. The last one i waited till the line was moving and then set the hook, landed him ;D

Will try that thanks!
Went out for an hour or so late afternoon with a frog.  Getting late in the season and didn't know how they would react.  Pleasantly surprised that I got a half dozen hits on it.  May try to sneak out for an hour again today and try my patience with it again!  Thanks again!

Joe hit the nail on the head. Patience!

Wait until the line tightens and then swing hard.

As for getting frog bites this time of year, it's still possible in areas where the pads haven't died off yet. As the water gets colder and the pads start to die, then the frog bite will die off completely.
