Can't see how the ice will last long with the rain and these temps!

Right now the sun has broken through and the temp is up to 57 (in the shade) 

Supposed to cool back down a bit toward the end of the week, and then next week is forecasted to be back into the low 30s and high 20s during the day, but it will take some time before we have any new ice.

If we don't get any more ice this year it won't bother me any!  Come on April 20th.

I don't ice fish, but many of the lakes need some good ice cover to help knock the weeds down a little. No ice last winter in addition to a warm, dry spring last year added up to some heavy weed growth... especially in shallow lakes

I hear you there, Ray! It's kind of a catch 22. I don't want to spend a lot on heating my house either.And I really don't want a bunch of snow and freezing cold days. But I know that it's good when we do have some cold weather, in more ways than one
