Acadia Sports Rods & Reels
« on: February 02, 2010, 09:03:04 PM »
Hey Guys, I spent some time last week checking out rods and reels sold by Acadia Sports. Apparently, the company deals only directly with consumers, eliminating the middle man. This allows them to sell high end equipment at mid-range prices.

I did some digging and found other people talking about these rods at other forums. So far, I found nothing but positive feedback on them.

Their company showroom is located somewhere near Dallas, Texas. I plan on visiting them later this month when I go to Texas to fish Lake Fork. If their rods and reels look and feel as good as I have heard they do, I'll be making a purchase while I'm there.

I'll keep you posted on what I think of them.

Anyone else have any feedback on them at all?

Curt, is this a fairly new company, say in the last 5 years or so?

Direct from their website: "The company was started in 2004 in Irving, Texas with the introduction of its first line of products - graphite rods."

Hey Curt, did you ever make it here?

I ended up not being able to stop here when we got to Texas. It was Presidents Day and they were closed :(

I don't like buying rods without being able to hold them and get a feel for their weight, action, etc. So I don't know if I'll buy one of them or not.

I may try one of their reels, just for the heck of it, to see how they compare to my Shimanos.

I'll let you know...

I have 4 of their rods and I think that they are very much worth the moneyb but I read on another site that most don't think too highly of the reels.
