The Color C Lector is something that was developed by someone (Loren Hill??) back in the early 90s. I personally don't hold much faith in something like this to tell me what color will work and what color won't.

A few different colors of baits tried on any given lake will help to narrow it down without having to spend $120 to do it!

I would rather spend 120.00 dollars on banjo minnows.
I fish therefore I lie.

I remember when the Color-C-Lector first came out, I was naive enough to buy one and shell out a lot of money for it. For the next month or so, every time I'd go out, I would waste countless numbers of minutes taking the time to lower the probe into the water to let it tell me what the "correct" color was that the fish could see the best.

What a stinking joke. I wasted my money and my time on that stupid thing. Never again  :-\

I remember seeing Roland Martin using one of these all of the time. Probably just a plug like the frogthogs from basspro he use to push along with sun block and lure scenting liquids.  I dont beleive in this thing. I say if it doesn't work try something else.

Yep... same here. A pretty expensive and tedious way to learn to throw Black and Blue!

Funny, I was just watching a repeat of Roland Martin the other day and he had one of these things. It was telling him to throw something with Chartreuse in it. So he sprayed his soft plastic with Chartreuse. If his goes out perhaps you could sell it to him? :)
Don't let that stinking bass get away!!!!!

I had to laugh after reading this post. Now that my son is into fishing he likes to watch the fishing shows on Versus. Roland Marting was fishing Epcot @ Disney World and he was fishing with a NASCAR driver. They were catching fish on a white spinnerbait and next thing you know it he pulled out this this thing to find out why they were hitting on a "white spinnerbait". He drops the thing into the water and says "it's on #37, it's on #37". I have no idea what that meant, orther than the fact that he said the water was clear. All I could do was laugh.

As Roland would say: "SON"

This product has worked wonders for me. I put a small chain and 25 foot of rope onto it, makes a great crank bait retriever.
You wanna save some $$$:
Color Selector
Black
Brown
or Green ;D ;D
If it involves more than drinkin coffee and fishin, I ain't interested
