Ice fishing on Wardens

Drove by Wordens today and saw a bunch of people flag fishing today.  What a screwie winter, it's the start of March and it's the first safe ice of the season. I was fishing out of my boat a month age in the dead of winter and now spring is almost here and I can't even see my boat because it's burried in the snow...

Was there any open water or is the whole pond covered?

I couldn't see any open water from the ramp, and someone told me there was 4-6 inches thick.
