Krod and I went to one of my favorite winter fishing holes today. After watching for a couple of weeks it finally opened up. When I check it thursday afternoon there was no ice at all, when we arrived this morn half the pond was skimmed over. We broke our way to some open water to a sunny shore with some down trees and a small brook entering. Second cast ken landed a nice 2lber on a rattle trap, and proceeded to catch 3 more with in 10 minutes. I on the otherhand was throwing a jerkbait and finally caught my first one after he landed his forth. Then it happened, I still can' t believe it, but in our rush to get on the water ken grabbed a rod that had a buzzbait tied on. Well being different as I am, I tried it. Second cast a blow up. It was a 2lber and I lost it trying to get it over a branch. I threw right back and had another blow up, but lost it right away. After the playing was over we both went to jigs and managed a bunch more. We tallied around 15 bass rangeing from 1lb to 3lbs. I have to admit that Krod ended up with the most, but who cares in the middle of Jan.
