Quality day at Gortons Pond
« on: April 12, 2005, 05:56:48 PM »
Went to gortons pond in east lyme today for a few hours of fishing. Ended up catching 7 and losing a couple of others. The best part is that all the fish were of good quality. with the 2 smallest still a little over 2lbs, 2 more around 3lbs, one 3 1/2, one more that went 5-9, and finally this one

which went 7lbs 5 ozs. All fish were caught on a jig except for the big one, she came on a rattle trap.

Nice Fish!  I've spent many nights there after dinner fishing from the road near the elementary schools.  Use to do pretty well.  I also had some luck in the back pond in the same area.

Nice job, Dennis!

I have always wanted to check out Gorton's. Maybe this will be the year that I finally get over there  ;)

Isn't Gortons Pond where a guy caught a record catfish from his backyard a couple years back?

It is East Lyme, CT off I-95.  I think it's exit 75, but don't hold me to that.
