The Hawg Forum / Couple Trail
« on: January 30, 2015, 10:39:47 AM »
Hello Everyone,

Was wondering if there was any interest out there in a couples trail?

There was an ABA couples trail last year in mass but was cancelled. There is nothing else with this format in New England.

Just figured I would try to see what the interest level was before taking efforts on setting anything up.

Thanks

Anyone follow Major Leagur Fishing? I see they are offering their scoretracker software at the club/local level. Wonder how that would work?

Northeast U.S. Fishing Reports / Maine
« on: May 28, 2013, 11:43:30 AM »
Spent the weekend at the cabin, fished sat and sun.  Sat was 20 to 25 mph winds with horizontal down poor rain, sun was less the rain but the wind remained.  Water temps on the river were 52 to 56, on the lake 56 to 58.  My son managed to catch his first hawg. Despite the weather and cold cold hands was a great weekend for fishing.

Boating Forum / Deck Hatches
« on: October 23, 2012, 09:07:10 AM »
2 years ago I purchased a new boat. I have always had an issue with the hatches being very tight to open because of the pile on the carpet. To this day I have to keep a screw driver on the deck to open the hatches. The manufacturer said that this was a perfect fit and would break in over time, its been 2 years and I still need a screw driver.

I have seen on other boats nylon loops that you can put your finger through to pull the hatch open and even thought about shaving the carpet with my hair trimmers.

Anybody have any other ideas on a remedy?

Northeast U.S. Fishing Reports / Squam
« on: August 07, 2012, 01:07:02 PM »
Drove to NH last weekend to fish Squam, hit traffic friday afternoon which spoiled the evening fishing, then did not get to the launch early enough sat, launch parking was full by 7am.

Ended up fishing the Pemigewasset River, caught a bunch of smallies.... by 5 the squam launch was empty, made it out for a few more hours on the lake.  Caught a bunch more smallies.  My 11 year old some had about 3.5 pounder on which he fought for about 5 min, of course I got to see it all while holding the net, finally the fish jumped about 4 feet in the air and spit the hook. we both sighed at the same time, was kinda funny. Catching them on tubes and wacky rigged senko's on a DS rig

All in all, was a good trip, kids got to fish!

Off to maine next week pond hopping for 5 days!!
