Saltwater Reports / Stripers
« on: August 30, 2007, 05:35:48 PM »
The striper fishing is awsome this year. Capt. Don says it's the best in the last 20 years. I would have to agree.

Went out on Tuesday afternoon in the Pawcatuck River and snagged some bunker. ( so many in the river that you could walk across on them!) Left at 5pm on Tues. PM for th Wicopesett. Within the 1st hour I had a 33" and a 36" striper in the boat, as well as many blue fish. For the next 3 hrs caught and released several bass and many more bluefish. All were caught on either live bunker or chunks, drifted back over the reef.

The weather was perfect, no wind, warm, beautiful moon , and flat as glass.

By the time I got home after cleaning the fish and washing down the boat it was after midnight.

Really an awesome night. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Northeast U.S. Fishing Reports / Locustville Pond
« on: July 13, 2007, 03:12:19 PM »
Fished Locustville this AM for about 31/2 hours. Went to turn on the bow fishfinder... didn't work :-[ :-[ Water was real warm though I have no idea of the temp. Started out in the lily pads at the upper end of the pond. Nothing but slimeballs. Went to move and the trolling oter rope broke. :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[ :-[. After some fumbling, went down near the dam. 1 lmb infront of the dam on a wacky rigged senko. 4 more lmb's on the way back to the ramp. Biggest of the day might have been 2 lbs. All came on 6" lizards ubder the docks that were in deeper water. It was now about 11:00am and HOT. Between the slow fishing and other assorted problems decided to call it a day.

Saltwater Reports / Misquamicut Fluke
« on: June 19, 2007, 06:03:53 PM »
Went out fluke fishing in the new boat Sunday and today. Sunday my wife, nephew and myself only managed 3 keepers (19" minimum) out of about 20 or so fluke. Today my oldest son and I went out and got well  over 50 fish, but only 3 keepers. Also got in on a bluefish blitz on Watch Hill Reef. Lots of fun.

The boat is awesome!!!!!!

Northeast U.S. Fishing Reports / Chapman's Pond
« on: May 30, 2007, 06:10:41 AM »
Went to Chapman's last evening for a few hours. It is really becoming weeded up. I fished from about 5pm-8pm. For the first 1.5 hours I didn't even have a hit. I was throwing spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and lizards. I fished the middle and the shoreline. ZIP, NADA, NOTHING. Then about 6:30 or so it turned on. I ended up with 6 bass and one crappie. All bass were keepers. four of them were in the 1-1.5lb range. One was 2.2 lbs, and the last one was 2.5 lbs. All of them came on a  6"pumpkinseeed lizard tight to submerged wood on the north and east shoreline. I did lose a few fish by not being able to get them out of the cover, but all in all it was a good evening.

« on: March 10, 2005, 08:15:04 AM »
I was in the Walmart in Westerly yesterday and they had 3 shopping carts full of XXX strike king plastics for 25 cents a pack. They normally cost $2.92 at Walmart. There was still a good selection yesterday afternoon. I got 85 packs for $21.25 when they should have cost $248.20. Anyway, I should be set for a while.
