Went to Mousam today. Lower bay was out but main lake was still iced in. Broken away from shore and moving so should be out by Sunday. I bet Lovewell is open. The river is high so a lot of water must have pushed in. Arrowhead is open, Cobbossee Steam, Damariscotta. Rest are getting closer.

Starts for me Saturday  ;D  Candlewood, Mousam, Great Pond, Cobbossee, Winni in next few weekends. Good thing we'll have a few weeks off after that. Jerk bait is going to wear me out.
Spent the day transitioning from an Okeechobee boat ready for New Engand prespawn mixed bags.

$15 for a chatterbait have to admit I bought some. Do I need an INTERVENTION? They were on sale. Lol

I made one prototype for fishing letdowns and bushes....flat eye arkie with fiber guard. Went through the wood and caught some nice ones......before I did lose it. Glad it wasn't 15 bucks!

Made an order when I got home on Sunday with my order today. Will have a few dozen next trip out.

I watched Chris Johnston and Gussey from Ontario wackem on chatter baits in 8-12 of water. FLW live. New way to fish them, new to me anyway. Yo yoing in the hydrilla. Fish were crushing them on the fall. It was cool to see a couple young Northern guys dominate down in Florida.

These units do so much more than my 350A in 1999 or my x5 in 1989. Amazing how the technology has gotten so much better for so much less.
I fish the bank alot and put down waypoints often in shallow water. It is great to know if a stump or rocks or weed bed or something is coming before you run over it. Just putting a fish mark down when you get a good one will show you a pattern over time especially on flats. Anyway even if you fish the bank the unit will pay for itself. I still have waypoints from back in my 350A days.

Great Pond was frozen just enough to keep us off today. Could walk on the ice for a bout 10' and 1/2 inch thick after that for about 100'. Lake gourgous otherwise. Light variable winds above 40. We went down the road to Messalonski catching a few quick then found her tough. Sudden squall with heavy wind and rain, not snow luckily, pushed us off the lake early. Good fishing slow catching. 3 smallies 1 pike.

Used to buy okumas from Dicks. Strattus.... now and then I will use one of these. They were great until using the shimano. Can't go back.

Maiden voyage (First for fishing anyway) in new boat. Cut Keel guard in half at the waterline on an earlier edition. Need Fisher to come out with an extreme v for boats.

Getting to Great Pond today. It was disappointing given the effort to get there but a good day.

Wind died down but trailer was frozen to boat. Took over an hour to launch. That wave I took over bow froze the TM and made a skate rink in the console area. Needed to pry lockers open. Wind was perfect. .3 mph drift. First cast 5 1/2 smallie.
