It still should charge even if it's cloudy.  Sounds like it will work out for you

They look good but 15 is hard to part with when the cheaper ones work good..

The 188 is rated for a 115.   The 198 is 19' 4" and is a pad hull, that one was 35G, 32G with a merc.

So tempting   :hmm:

I went to Thayer Marine's open house boat show / expo Saturday and really fell in love with the Ranger 198 with a Evinrude 150 G2, had to get out of there before i did something crazy ;D

No experience with solar charging but that's your only option in remote areas with no power.

Do you have a 24 system?  One option would be to have extra batteries on hand so you can charge a set during the day while your fishing!

Been thinking about trying one of these but i can't deal with some of the patterns on them :P

Wish there were more solid colors to choose from!

The AVX 189 with a 115 starts at 25,000 and the 1980 starts at 31 with a 150 merc four stroke.  The loaded orange boat that was shown at the classic was 39 but came with a Evinrude G2 150, power poles, 9" Humminbirds on bow and console.  Supposedly a RI dealer has been posting about them on their facebook page. Don't know who but i'd guess it would be Woods as they used to sell Rangers.

For those who didn't hear about these boats Vexus is a new company started by ex Ranger employees and Forest Wood. They launched the aluminum line first at the classic. Fiberglass models will be announced this fall.  Looks like a nice boat for the first ones!  http://vexusboats.com/
