Navionics Info & How-To / florida boaters
« on: March 08, 2018, 01:23:04 PM »
Florida boaters know that it can be difficult to tell if you're cruising through a manatee protection zone. That's why Navionics has recently updated the Boating app to include notifications about these zones.

Navionics Info & How-To / 550 new lakes in Quebec
« on: January 29, 2018, 08:08:14 AM »

The lakes released today are concentrated in the southernmost region of Qu?bec, north of Ottawa, Ontario, and west of Montreal. From Lac Achigan to Lac des Zouaves, the new lakes include seven Lac Vert, seven Lac ? la Truite, and six Lac Long! They are all available now in Nautical Chart, along with the nearly 1,600 lakes added throughout the province in May and July of this year. With so many new lakes of all sizes, if you live in Qu?bec, there may be one close to you.
Updated lakes include popular fishing areas like R?servoir Baskatong, Grand Lac Nominingue, Grand Lac du Cerf and Lac Preston. These lakes offer anglers a variety of species to target, such as walleye, northern pike, lake trout, whitefish and landlocked salmon.

The new HOOK2 series from Lowrance delivers affordable and easy-to-use fishfinder/chartplotter capabilities so that anglers can spend more time fishing and less time making manual adjustments to their sonar settings.
Hook2 models are compatible with Navionics cutting-edge advanced features, essential for any angler aiming at success. SonarChart?, the 1ft/0.5 m HD bathymetry map, SonarChart? Live and Advanced Map Options are available on Hook2 when using a Navionics card. Each of these features offers useful functionality to help anglers fish smarter.
SonarChart? is an HD bathymetry map that is constantly improved with sonar logs shared by boaters. Anglers around the world rely on it to get the most out of their fishing days and to locate fishing areas at any depth level. By using the added contours, finding ledges, drop-offs, and deep holes becomes easier!
SonarChart? Live
SonarChart? Live allows boaters to create personal 1 ft/0.5 m HD bathymetry maps in real time on the display of their chartplotter. With SonarChart? Live, boaters can engage their sonar to create new and increasingly detailed charts everywhere they go, raising awareness of shallow waters and frequently revealing previously uncharted bottom features, such as holes and drop-offs, that anglers seek out when targeting fish.
Advanced Map Options
Advanced Map Options gives plotter users the ability to customize their view of Navionics charts. Presentation can be modified to select a fishing range, highlight shallow areas and adjust SonarChart? contour density, thereby making it quicker and easier to identify ideal fishing spots and repeat patterns.
Advanced features are available when using a Navionics card that has an active chart updates subscription.

Navionics Info & How-To / Join the Post-Irma Remapping Effort!
« on: January 28, 2018, 10:59:52 PM »
When Hurricane Irma passed through the South Florida area last September, much of the boating community was affected. At the same time, shorelines and bottom contours have also changed. That's why we?re partnering with other industry leaders and the South Florida boating community to remap marine and inland waterways impacted by Hurricane Irma.

Hurricanes change the marine landscape significantly. You can help make boating safer by updating local charts and Navionics will share debris locations marked in the area with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Participants will receive one year of daily updates!

Ready to join the #RemapSouthFL team? It?s easy!
