Northeast US Lake Conditions / Re: Chapmans boat ramp.

Should be nice as they removed all the reeds that overtook the ramp the last few years

That'll definitely be nice. The reeds had really gotten overgrown around the ramp and made it almost impossible to beach your boat.

They have the dock almost done. Have to see how it holds up against the ice this winter?  They did use some heavy pilings so we'll see! Finish date is early December

How To Register And Update Your Chip
To register and update your Navionics chip:
(Registering your card will register your first year of free Freshest Data updates.)

***Please ensure that your GPS plotter is running the most current internal software version in order to display the updated charts properly.***
***Note: Current version of the Navionics Chart Installer are not compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Mac OSX versions less than 10.8.***
***Note: Chart Installer is currently not compatible to download from Internet Explorer. Compatible browsers include Edge, Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.

1.  Go to Update My Chart on the Navionics website.

2.  Select "Get Started" button to download the Chart Installer.

3.  Select ""NEW Chart Installer"

4. a. >> FOR WINDOWS USERS << (Mac users see below)
Installation will begin immediately. You should see a progress bar at the bottom of the screen that shows the download file Chart+Installer.exe. Once completed, you can click on the arrow and select "Open", or you can find the Navionics Chart Installer icon on your desktop and double-click to open.
   b. >> FOR MAC USERS <<
Double click (or right-click > Open) the .dmg file under Downloads to mount (access and open) the file.

Double click the Chart Installer setup file (or right-click > Open)

Select Open to run the setup

***If your computer is not allowing you to open the application to let it run, make sure to enable the download and installation of Chart Installer from your Mac:
Go on the Mac Settings >> System Preferences >> Security & Privacy >> General
"Unlock" the padlock at the bottom-left of the window
Click to Allow Apps downloaded from: "Mac Store and identified developers" (will require permission and your computer password to install programs downloaded from sites other than the Mac Store)

Go to the top of step 4 and try running the application setup again and then proceed to step 5.
5.  It is suggested to restart your computer.

6.  Once your computer is rebooted, insert your Navionics Chart into the card reader in your computer. If you have a SD/MSD chip, please UNLOCK it first (locking mechanism pushed to the top of the card toward the contacts and make sure your MSD card is in the SD adapter).

7.  Create a new account by clicking the Create Account button.
Active Navionics account holders (such as Navionics mobile users) can simply sign into their existing account.

8.  Select the manufacturer, family and model of your GPS/chart plotter/sounder.

If you would like to download to or update your card, please continue through the next steps.
*** If you have a plotter card you were using to create SonarChart? Live, you can move the files to your new card and continue to use them on your plotter. For full instructions see our Help article: Moving SonarChart? Live logs from one card to another.

9.  For Navionics Updates cards go through the activation process
Activating your Navionics Updates Card
10.  For Platinum+ or HotMaps Platinum products
Your chart is preloaded with Nautical Chart, SonarChart and Platinum features
Community Edits (for compatible plotters) can be downloaded to the card at this time
11.  For Navionics+ products
Smaller selection areas use less memory and will reduce the downloading time
Use the pins on the selection box to adjust your download area
Zoom in or out to be more specific in choosing/selecting the area to download
After each download completes, you will have the option to add more coverage
 12. Click "START" (see illustrations below)

13. Allow the charts to download.  Estimation of download time will vary based on internet connection & speed, as well as selected chart size.
Navionics+ Preloaded cards include Nautical Chart and SonarChart files loaded on the card when purchased (excluding US & Canada, which is preloaded with Nautical Chart only). This will contain several GB of data, which will take a significant amount of time to update.

Cards can also be purged of the preloaded data by selecting the trash can icon .
Your Navionics chart files are removed from the card and you can then select the areas of charts to download.
Note: If you have a preloaded Navionics+ or Navionics Updates card, purging will remove all of the files on your card. Charts must then be downloaded using the selection tool.

14. Once the download has fully completed, correctly remove your Navionics chip.

FOR WINDOWS USERS - Click to show hidden icons - Click to Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media - Select Eject NAVIONICS

FOR MAC USERS - Click to select the NAVIONICS drive - Select File > Eject NAVIONICS - Or select NAVIONICS and hit ⌘E

Got out to Slatersville yesterday. Water temp was 38 in most of the pond. Mid day some of the shallow bays were 40-41. Early on, ice on the guides was an issue. As it warmed up it became less of a problem. Got a few bites on a suspending jerkbait, which feels weird to throw there as most of it is shallow and if overgrown most of the year. I got a 4lb there last weekend on a weightless fluke, but the water temp was still over 50 then.

Wind died down but trailer was frozen to boat. Took over an hour to launch. That wave I took over bow froze the TM and made a skate rink in the console area. Needed to pry lockers open. Wind was perfect. .3 mph drift. First cast 5 1/2 smallie.

Sounds like it was worth all the extra work! Got any pics of that 5 1/2??
