These units do so much more than my 350A in 1999 or my x5 in 1989. Amazing how the technology has gotten so much better for so much less.
I fish the bank alot and put down waypoints often in shallow water. It is great to know if a stump or rocks or weed bed or something is coming before you run over it. Just putting a fish mark down when you get a good one will show you a pattern over time especially on flats. Anyway even if you fish the bank the unit will pay for itself. I still have waypoints from back in my 350A days.

Great Pond was frozen just enough to keep us off today. Could walk on the ice for a bout 10' and 1/2 inch thick after that for about 100'. Lake gourgous otherwise. Light variable winds above 40. We went down the road to Messalonski catching a few quick then found her tough. Sudden squall with heavy wind and rain, not snow luckily, pushed us off the lake early. Good fishing slow catching. 3 smallies 1 pike.

Used to buy okumas from Dicks. Strattus.... now and then I will use one of these. They were great until using the shimano. Can't go back.

Maiden voyage (First for fishing anyway) in new boat. Cut Keel guard in half at the waterline on an earlier edition. Need Fisher to come out with an extreme v for boats.

Getting to Great Pond today. It was disappointing given the effort to get there but a good day.

Wind died down but trailer was frozen to boat. Took over an hour to launch. That wave I took over bow froze the TM and made a skate rink in the console area. Needed to pry lockers open. Wind was perfect. .3 mph drift. First cast 5 1/2 smallie.

Had snow on my cover this morning and ice in the guides while fishing. Took a wave over the bow and it froze. We lasted less than 2 hours. Going to be as cold but no wind tomorrow.....hopefully better. Had an awesome day yesterday. 6 smallies over 5 between us a dozen over 4. Love the St Lawrence.

Struggled this season with big fish..... finally breaking the 5 pound mark earning lunker with a 5.74 at the NEPVA tournament. A few days later a near twin on a different lake
Caught this one in 27 foot of water "video" fishing.  I have some success with dropping on smallies but this is among the very few largemouth that I have successfully dropped on.

I always blamed a summer full moon on lousy fishing during the days following thinking that the fish fed all night.  My story and sticking to it ..... lol

I use it with strait shank flipping hooks with braid. With others the palomar. With floro I use improved clinch knot. In really heavy mats I am starting to question it as baits gets torn up pretty quickly if the weight pivots the hook as you pull it out. In milfoil and hydrilla it works as advertised.

I was kicking myself for not getting up early and fished today. Opted for yard work instead. By noon I was stretched with sweat, got a lot done. Quit....
Got out of the shower to wind horizontal rain and STATIC. Facebook is full of pictures like this one from Sebago Lake

Of course Sebago is the lake I drive by when I go fishing 😎

I have this one set up for Cob tomorrow. My normal crank bait rod is a 7'6 medium. THE XD 8 is a bit much for it. Favorite cranking lake is China on Sunday. Tomorrow will decide which
