Full moon night fishing??
« on: August 04, 2017, 11:11:28 AM »
I'm fairly new to night fishing for bass. I've been seeing a bunch of opinions on it, but what do all of you think about night fishing around the full moon?  Some say they don't feed well around it.  Some say they do, but only at night.  Some say to treat it like sun and fish the shade pockets.  Some say it doesn't effect them at all in smaller lakes and ponds.  Just wondering if anyone has any input on this.

Statistically, my best nights are when there is less moonlight. Half moon or less is what I prefer, and I've been at it for a very long time. If there is a bright moon, I prefer to have cloud cover to dim it down.

If there is no cloud cover and the moon is full, most times it pays off to fish as though it's daylight. Look for shaded areas or areas with dark reflections from the treeline along the shore.

I always blamed a summer full moon on lousy fishing during the days following thinking that the fish fed all night.  My story and sticking to it ..... lol
