Not sure about the northern parts of New England, but here in Southern RI it appears that the spawn is over as fast as it began.
I fished Chapman Pond Saturday afternoon and found empty beds everywhere. Water temp was at 70 degrees there already.
I also fished at Watchaug yesterday for a few hours, and the water temperature there was also pushing high 60s in most areas.
So we waited a long time for it to happen, and then it happened almost overnight
But it's behind us now, so maybe the fish will begin to settle into their summer habits very soon. Now if only the weather would settle down, we'd be all set
