I'm surprised to hear this. That tourney has been being held for as long as I can remember, way back into the 1980s. It may possibly have been in existence before that, but that's the earliest I remember it.


I remember deciding not to fish it last year because the entry fee had gone way up.

yes, the tournament ran for 27 yrs. their club no longer has the insurance coverage and they decided to stop doin them.

Probably a wise choice with everyone being so sue happy these days.

I am currently in that club and we had a club meeting about that tournament this last Saturday. It's actually currently in the works of getting the permit pulled still and hopefully having it April 2nd. The tourney rules will obviously change a bit since there is no longer nation insurance covering the toirnament. The coordinators are looking into it more but as of now it looks to be still happening.

Little more up to date info. As of right now we are waiting on the permit to be pulled but details as of now are:
-Pretty much same rules as last year
-$150 a boat
 -time is 7-3
-5 fish linit
-Date is looking like April 2nd
-Most likely a 20 boat limit because of parking. Will talk to Geers about additional parking but that's it for now
-Entry is pay at the ramp first come first serve
-All boats must carry insurance and carry proof of it

Again this is not 100%. Just trying to keep you all in the loop!
