Looking to buy a bass boat
« on: February 29, 2016, 08:52:25 PM »
Hey guys,

Looking to purchase a used bass boat in good condition in the 5-7k range.  Have been watching craigslist just wondering if there's anywhere else to keep an eye on or if anybody on here knows of any that may be for sale in or close to this price range...

You might be able to get this down to your price range.  Richie is a good guy to deal with!

@RBPat1985 I run a group on Facebook strictly for buying and selling Used Bass Boats

http://www.facebook.com/groups/UsedBassBoatsForSale/

The group has over 12,000 members and new boats being listed every day.

The only drawback is that there are very few listed in New England.

That's a loaded question, since there are so many variables. If you take your time and do your homework, you can find a decent boat for 5k or under. But the key is to be patient. Don't buy the first one you see.

And in that price range, you will be buying older boats, so be sure to check them out thoroughly, including the transom and the trailer.

Definitely. This should include a compression test on all cylinders. The compression reading for all of the cylinders shouldn't vary more than a lb. or two between them.

A neighbor is selling two boats that here husband left her when he past. Both are circa 1995 a champion with a 150 and a crestliner with a Yamaha jet. She doesn't  know a lot about either. Asking 3500 each or best offer. Would be a restoration projects......both were stored outside uncovered. The jet was registered and used last year. The champ hasn't been registered since 2013. I will try to get more info if anyone is interested.....but like I said she doesn't know much about them.  How much to get them ready to fish I do not know.
