In need of a baitcasting rod under $100
« on: September 19, 2015, 02:29:16 PM »
Any recommendations on a baitcaster under $100? I love my ugly stik, but I really would like a baitcaster for fishing densely weeded areas. Also, nobody makes the left handed reels with a baitcaster? I grew up reeling with my left hand. Call me weird but I also shoot a gun and shoot pool with my left hand! Thanks in advance

Check out the Abu Garcia Black Max series, very good cheap reel.   Dicks has Abu combos for aroung 60 bucks!

@metz12 The combo recommended by @Joe P is perfect for what you want to spend. I've bought 3 of these combos over the last year and they can't be beat for the price. The reels are a budget baitcaster, but they work pretty well for the price range! And Dick's Sporting Goods is the best place to get them for sure. That's where I bought all three of mine, in the MH setup. It's a great all around combo that I've used for spinnerbaits, bladed jigs, flipping tubes and even some lighter swimbaits.
