New Boat
« on: February 20, 2015, 01:40:03 PM »
Per request... here are some pics of my new boat ;D

Decided to upgrade from my 95 Javelin that i owned since new. Been researching for a year and was leaning toward towards a Ranger / Triton aluminum boat, both are the same hulls.  I seen that Thayer's Marine had got a shipment of 2015 stratos boats in and went to look. Was real impressed with the Stratos and it ended up being cheaper than the similar sized Ranger with more options and a larger motor.

Still need to install my Humminbirds and load my tackle in the boat if it ever warms up :P

Boat is a 2015 Stratos 186VLO with a 135HO Etec

Nice looking rig @Joe P  ;D ;D

Looks like it has quite a bit more space than your old boat too  ;)

Very nice Joe. Wish you the best of luck with it. I'm going to need to start looking in the next year or so too. I'll have to check it out on the water when it warms up! Congrats on the ride!

Do you have an updated review on this boat and motor fuel efficiency and speed?  Looking to buy and just curious.

Update!  Had the boat out a few times and really love it. No regrets at all with this boat ;D

The E-tech runs real smooth and quiet. The low end torque is amazing, feels a lot stronger than my old 150 faststrike. Boat planes out instantly with hardly any bow rise. I hit 58 on GPS on the first trip. Want to break in it a little before i push it to hard even though Evinrude claims no breakin is needed. I think 58 to 62 will be the numbers for this setup. I wasn't sure i was gonna like the rods tubes but i do. I'm able to double up in the tubes no problem and carry all my rods ;D

Here is my Humminbirds installed and networked together, work very well!

Joe,  The dashboard or console looks much better with the bigger fish finder filling it up now! Now to break the boat in with a few big fish! Good luck.
