Recommend Digital Lake Charts Chip?
« on: March 31, 2014, 12:40:54 PM »
My father-in-law just bought a Lowrance Elite-4 fish finder. This is the first fish finder we have had that has GPS and digital lake chart capability. We fish primarily in CT, but fish in Maine also. I have done some research trying to find the best company with the most detailed lake charts. I have found Fishing Hot Spots with a cost of about $100. Another company, Navionics, seems to indicate on its web site that its Marine & Lakes USA is discontinued starting from January 1st, 2014. Also, can the micro Sd chip be copied so that we have a back-up for if anything were to happen to the original chip, and are updates costly? Any recommendations and advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
