Musky
« on: February 15, 2012, 06:46:26 PM »
Born and raised in the mid-west, I remember traveling north to northern WI, MN and into Canada on the hunt for musky. Anyone here have the opportunity to fish for this monster on a fly? Would like to hear.

Fished the St Lawrence River in Clayton and Ogdensburg, NY a few times, tons of pike, did manage a couple muskies on a fly biggest almost 15lbs. Did much better with spinning tackle, a couple over 30. Only a 6 hour drive away. It's the closest  place to go if you want a good to great muskie and pike fishery.
Men and fish are alike, they both get in trouble when they open their mouths...

The traditional figure 8 with a fly rod just gets me baffled.
