Will be making our annual tuna trip on my brother-in-laws boat on Friday with a couple of other friends. Hopefully we get the same results as last year. Here's what we caught last year:

Headed out tomorrow also, weather should be good. Staying in a little closer this time, reports say there just south of block. Tuna and shark.

Been out 4 times so far, no tuna yet, 100+ bluedogs (bluesharks) so far 0 on the makos and threashers. We got some tips that the makos and threashers are in very close due to the very warm water this year.. Update tomorrow.

Ran into a few problems, so we postponed our trip until next Friday, July 30th.

Groti, good luck on your trip, buddy!

Ran out to the fairway buoy Friday trolled over to the gully till 11am, two oceanic bonito one big bluefish. Flat calm no bait no surface activity nadda, Set up a chum slick through the east grounds after about an hour got a 7' blue shark on an 80 class rod. Bluedogs started showing up around boat and I thought it was time to get the newbie on the boat hooked up on a 30 class rod. Fed a 9' blue a chunk of bluefish and the fight was on. Poor little Lowell didn't know what he was getting into,  a 15 year olds first time shark fishing. He swore he was going to get pulled overboard. He did get the shark to the boat after about a half hour.

We got two 7's, 3 over 9' and one just keeper size Mako. Doing it again Tuesday...
