I've seen this pond many times...finally went exploring and found an access near the cell phone tower near NE Tech.  Got 7 bass this AM in about 2 hours, but nothing worthy of a pic.  They wanted the buzzer in the light breeze/chop and the BPS Sticko paddletail.  Two culverts come into the pond on the United Health side, but water level is so low, that there isn't a flow now.  Pond has muddy water, but weeds etc. aren't really a problem.  No name for the pond on maps; it's part of the watershed that parallels Jefferson Blvd. and goes under the Airport Access Road.

I often wonder about little mud holes like that one. They kind of hold a mystique about them.

Glad you got to check this one out and catch some fish Smiley

yeah I see that one all the time too.  I hear that the little pond, or whatever you wanna call it  on 295 @ rt 37 (before the big rocks)  holds some monsters.  Although it looks like managing the weeds would be a pain....

and I also know for a fact that the little pond at the old fiddlestix exit on rt 4...(on your right when heading south)  has a ton of bass in it, as my buddy pulled over one day and caught them left & right.

According to Bing maps that little pond is called Three Ponds.  Not sure why---maybe before they did all the developing in there there were three.  If my dad was alive I'd ask him---he was in there all the time putting out brush fires when he was on the WFD in the 60's and 70's.

I just bought a lil kayak just for trying little ponds like that.

Sounds like you had fun.

I think it would be awesome to be able to spend an entire season running all over the state and fishing these little tiny ponds either from shore or from a canoe/kayak. Would require some serious time, but would probably be well worth it!

I always wonder about those little ponds like that and what they could possible hold. I always think I should just keep a rod in my car with one plano box of some key gear to cast just to try them all out.  Grin

I have fished this place a few times over the years. There seam to be mostly bass in the 8 - 11 inch size in there. If you go there on the weekend in the AM , be carefull of the remote controll boats that they race in there. I have been there twice when I have heard a high pitch sound and then saw two little remote controll boats racing around the pond. That is what the orange markers are in there for, their race track.

Thanks, Bob.  I was wondering what those were....thought they were marking submerged rocks or something
