Just wanted to get a feel for what you guys/girls like to throw. My favorite bait is the senko! This bait is the one I throw when I just need to put fish in the boat. I have started to fall in love with the lipless crankbait, but this is just a recent thing. What about you guys?

hey there Jay... i am with you on the sanko i love my sankos. i always weatch fish even when the fishing is hard. but my definet go to bait is a black/black blue jig or a watermelon jig. but to me i tend to have more luck with a sexy shad crankbait than lipless because there is a beter profile and moves a little bite more. the sexy shad is a good color cause it imitates three typs of bait fish. the yellow and white for Golden shiners. the blue and white foe Alewifes. and then the blue and yellow is like a bluegill or sunfish

My favorite would definitely depend on the conditions at hand, if you're referring to what my favorite lure is on a given day. Day in and day out, however, one of my very favorite baits is the buzzbait. When the fish are crushing a buzzbait, there's nothing quite like it! Although, when they're crushing a jig & pig, there's nothing quite like that either So, I guess my first answer gets it.. whatever the fish like at the moment is my favorite lure

I'm gonna have to say my favorite has always been 10" black culprit worm texas rigged. It has always been good for me. I have definitely caught more bass on this bait than any other. But I agree with Curt whichever one is working.

I guess to really answer the question as intended, it would be a jig. In cold water I like pork rind, in warmer water I like plastic chunk, in both conditions I'll use a grub. IMHO I think it's the most versatile of all lures in any condition, pitching/flipping, casting (either hopping or dragging) and swimming (great fall season technique). Close seconds: Zara Spook, Buzzbait, Spinnerbait, Trick Sticks

To Curt's point... anything that is catching fish at the given moment. So far my faves as I have become more adept at using them have been: The swim jig and grub trailer and football jig and chunk. As for a big producers that I love and I know I can almost always catch fish on, I would go to a YUM Dinger wacky rigged or zoom baby brush hog tex rigged. Fish hammer them and they both have so much action it is ridiculous.

lexbassbuzzin ... just a quick question does the jig&pig and the jig and grub make a difference in the depths that you use them what is better for what?

On top: JitterBugs, all others come in second
Then: Jig Heads with some type of plastic on them Senko Knock Offs: Alurring(trick sticks) and BPS ( stick-os) in particular Shad Raps and DT's Manns Jelly Worms C rigged and weightless T rigged various Plasitcs
depends on the day and where they are mostly. Otherwise we woulndnt need tackle boxes we would just need one lure!

Pheasant... what I have seen is rather than depths being a determining factor the temperature of the water seems to be more of a factor. The jig and pig seems to work better in colder temps because the chunk holds its ability to flutter in the water better than say a soft plastic chunk. In the end, roll with what you have the most confidence in when it comes to jigs and trailers and what the fish are hitting.

IMHO As far as depth is concerned, I adjust the jig weight. The pig trailer is a matter of preference, but I tend to use more in the cold water months where you need to fish slow and would end up fishing a jig most of the tme. I personally think that once a fish locks down on it, the fish will hold on to it longer. During the summer months when the bass are more active and you end up casting different lures, I tend to use a plastic chunk because pork tends to dry out in the heat. As far as grubs, I use anytime and interchange between pork/plastic. I especially like them for swimming applications. Hope this helps
