Having major difficulties trouble shooting this problem with my duck boat motor. Motor starts fine, idles fine, tachs up in neutral, put it under a loads and it stalls out . Paid $220.00 and the tech said the carbs needed cleaning. Get the boat home and it does the same thing. I change all tank and fuel line fittings including the ball, change gas. Still stalls, take it back to the tech and doing the same thing UNTIL he hooks up his test fuel tank. It runs fine. Tells me I must have water in my tank.

Clean out fuel tank, ADD a external water separator and new fuel. Take it to the river the motor runs fine UNTIL I trim the motor and bogs out and stalls.

The motor is 3 cylinders could it be the floats are sticking when the motor isn't plumb to the water line. Even when the motor is in tilt, it is only 5 to 10 degrees off plumb. Why would this make that much of a difference to make the motor run well?

Anybody have any ideas?Huh Thanks, Frank

sounds like you still have some water in carbs ,try draining the carb's .and then pick up some water-zorb made by mdr .it emulsifies and absorbs moisture in gas and doesn't contain alcohol . if that doesn't work you got to go back in the carb's .(tech should of addressed your water proplem first then carb's

I had something that sounds a lot like this last year. I took it to Marine USA and they thought it was bad gass or water inthe gas. The drained it and cleaned out the carb and it still had the same problem. The engine would idle fine untill it was under load in the water. Then is would sputter ans stall. They had the boat for two weeks and had to clean the carb again before it was working good again. I am not saying this is what it is. It just sounded a lot like what I had. Marine USA said with all the new addatives they now put in our gas, it creates more problem. Steve is the best one to be asking tho. Let us know how you make out and good luck.
